Ammon News - A Saudi delegation visited the National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) Monday and learned about the centre's agriculture research projects.
The delegates, representing the public and private sectors in Saudi, explored cooperation with the Jordanian private sector in leveraging technology, seeds and fertilisers, efficient use of irrigation, programmes for improving livestock and farm management and other areas of cooperation in agriculture.
The director of NARC, Nizar Haddad, said the meeting with the Saudi delegation was "rich in the transfer of expertise, knowledge and agricultural research sciences, as the centre seeks to build bridges of cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries in the transfer of agricultural expertise and sciences."
Haddad added that the economic modernisation vision is part of efforts to promote investment in the agricultural sector by building partnerships with neighbouring countries and highlighting Jordan's role in facing water and climatic challenges through projects for the optimal use of natural resources.
The National Director of the Technical Cooperation Programme at the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Saudi Arabia, Fahd Jamhan, lauded the technical capabilities of NARC, adding that the centre is the "attention of local and international organisations and donors."
