Ammon News - Social Security Corporation (SSC) called on Jordanian expatriates working outside the Kingdom and Jordanian housewives to initiate voluntary subscription, which provides beneficiaries an umbrella of protection, safety and stability.
In a press statement on Monday, SSC said voluntary subscription enabled a "large" number of subscribers, who had previous subscription periods, to get pension salaries.
Subscriptions also provided beneficiaries with social protection in cases of disability and natural death, as this service enabled 56,000 Jordanians to obtain a retirement pension under SSC insurance umbrella, the statement said.
The SSC stated that the voluntary subscription is available to Jordanians, whether inside or outside the Kingdom, provided that applicants complete the age of 16 and do not exceed 55 years old for females and 60 for males.
Moreover, the SSC noted contribution rate paid by the voluntarily-subscribed individuals is 17.5% per month of the deductible wage for old-age, disability and death insurance allowances.
The SSC announced a total of about 93,000 subscribers are currently active voluntarily-subscribed people.
