Global gas prices down, diesel costs up in first week of July

Ammon News - The global market saw a decrease in gasoline prices during the first week of July, while diesel and kerosene prices increased compared to their prices in June, according to data released by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on Monday.

During the first week of July, the cost of 90-octane gasoline decreased by 2.3%, going from $742.1 per ton to $725 per ton. Similarly, the price of 95-octane gasoline declined by 1.3%, going from $789.8 per ton to $779.9 per ton.

However, the cost of diesel inched up by 2.1%, from $638.9 per ton to $652.4 per ton, while the price of kerosene increased by 2.6%, from $688.8 per ton to $706.4 per ton.

Fuel oil prices have recently climbed by 6.7%, from $419.4 per ton to $447.7 per ton. In contrast, liquefied petroleum gas prices decreased by 13.8% in the first week of July, declining from $442.5 per ton in June to $381.3 per ton.

Brent crude prices edged up by 2.3% to $76.4 per barrel in the first week of July, compared to its average price of $74.7 in June.
