JFDA reduces prices of 391 medications by 2-47 %

Ammon News - Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) reduced during the first half of this year, the price of 391 types of medicines most commonly used by citizens, by a varying rate ranging from 2% to 47%.
JFDA Director General, Nizar Muhaidat, indicated in a press statement that the citizens will see a reduction in the prices of medicines during the coming months when these medicines are imported.
Muhaidat explained that the medicines that have been affected by the reduction are several types of blood pressure, diabetes, heart medicines, antibiotics, respiratory diseases, nervous system diseases, bone and muscle medicines, and other commonly used medicines.
The drug price reduction program is one of the administration's most important priorities, and it is a continuous work program based on a plan of action for the periodic review of drug prices and their continuous review, according to Muhaidat.
