Ammon News - A Cabinet session held Sunday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, approved establishment of two new municipalities in Ghor Mazraa district in southern Karak governorate, and Jrinat Shawabkeh region in central Madaba.

On the other hand, the Council of Ministers approved the mandating reasons for a draft Retirement Fund Bylaw for members of Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) for 2023.

The bylaw seeks to increase the fund's financial revenues by enacting mandatory subscription for all JEA members, provided that the maximum subscription age does not exceed 47 years for men and 43 years for women, respectively.

The system also aims to raise value of monthly contributions, create actuarially balanced pension categories, compulsory payment of retirement returns to practicing engineers, and allow engineers to move from retirement types without age restrictions.

Under the new amendments, the system features procedures for reducing the fund's financial burdens and stimulating engineers to commit to paying their due contributions.

Meanwhile, engineers with total disability will be relieved from the condition of paying their due subscriptions for a 180- month period to obtain a pension salary, which will be disbursed when beneficiaries pay 60 subscription or more.

The Cabinet also approved recommendations for the settlement committee to settle 10 pending cases between violators and Jordanian Customs Department.

Moreover, the Cabinet decided to appoint Ahmed Issa Amoush as Director General of the Department of Lands and Survey (DLS) after obtaining the highest score in the competition conducted under the appointment rules for leadership positions.

In the session, the Council decided to turn 7 governors in Ministry of Interior to pension.
