FM: Jordan to remain in international coalition to fight ISIS

Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi affirmed that Jordan will remain an active partner in the international coalition to combat ISIS, this came in the ministerial conference hosted by Saudi Arabia on Thursday.

Safadi stressed the importance of continuing the international coalition against ISIS.

"Jordan's joint commitment to combating terrorism on the military, security and ideological fronts is firm and will continue", Safadi said.

Safadi stressed that defeating terrorism also requires ending conflicts and conditions of despair, oppression, deprivation, and ignorance that ISIS and other terrorist gangs exploit, adding that its important to intensify efforts to resolve regional crises, and called for supporting the Arab track to reach a political solution to end the Syrian crisis.

He also confirmed the importance of supporting Iraq in establishing stability, after the historic victory it achieved over terrorism with great sacrifices, stressing that Jordan will continue to stand with Iraq with all its capabilities.

Safadi met a number of his counterparts participating in the conference.

Safadi held talks with his Norwegian counterpart, Anniken Huitfeldt, that discussed bilateral relations, the Palestinian issue, and efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis.
