Ammon News - Israeli army uses a highly advanced air balloon in The Galilee to surveil any aircrafts passing their borders, describes it as the “biggest” balloon ever made with a length of 177m and weighing a several tons, equipped with special cameras, computers and radars, according to Hebrew media sources.
Ynet news said that the transfer and launch of the balloon was not simple, and it is one of the most complex logistical operations known to Israeli Air Force in the past decade, as the balloon was dismantled and assembled and inflated by American teams that arrived in Israel for that reason.
Ynet indicated that the balloon is located parallel to the border triangle with Syria and Jordan and monitors their lands hundreds of kilometers away.
The new balloon, which joins an older one, which protects the reactor in Dimona, can detect long-range missiles and drones lunched from Iraq, Iran, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon, the newspaper explained.
It noted that the Israeli army expects the next war to be a multi-front confrontation, with joint attacks by thousands of aircraft and cruise missiles.
