Iraqi President receives Interior Minister in Baghdad

Ammon News - Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid on Sunday received in Baghdad Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya and his accompanying delegation.

Rashid conveyed his greetings to His Majesty King Abdullah, lauding the the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and peoples.

Al-Faraya also conveyed the King's greetings to the Iraqi President.

In a separate meeting, Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammad al-Sudani, received al-Faraya and his accompanying delegation. Al-Faraya underlined Jordan's firm position under the leadership of His Majesty the King and its support for all efforts aimed at strengthening the security and stability of Iraq as a fundamental pillar for the security and stability of the region "and part of our national security."

Al-Faraya voiced to the Kingdom's full support for the Iraqi government steps toward restoring Iraq's role and position within its Arab surroundings and enhances its stability, prosperity and sovereignty over its lands.

Al-Faraya explained that the visit to Iraq and meetings held with Iraq's President, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior aimed to build on the latest findings of the outputs of the bilateral meetings between the two countries and the meetings held at the regional level, to ensure enhancing bilateral and regional cooperation with Iraq in various fields, primarily facilitating the movement of people, vehicles and commodities, as well as security cooperation that includes combating terrorism, human trafficking, drug control and training.
