King to participate in Jeddah Arab Summit Friday

Ammon News - His Majesty King Abdullah II is set to participate in the thirty-second ordinary Arab summit tomorrow, Friday, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

In the summit's opening session, His Majesty the King will address several issues concerning the Arab nation, with a specific emphasis on the Palestinian issue, the primary Arab cause and the key to peace in the region.

The Jordanian delegation attending the summit will include Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, Jordan's Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Amjad Al-Adayleh, and the Director of His Majesty's Office, Jaafar Hassan.

Sources in Jeddah confirm that all Arab countries are set to participate in the summit.

Jeddah has completed preparations to welcome Arab leaders attending the summit, which is taking place under challenging regional and global circumstances that necessitate identifying political and economic solutions. Key concerns to be addressed include the ongoing issues in Yemen, Sudan, Syria, and the Palestinian cause.

At the summit, Arab leaders will discuss strategies to boost economic cooperation, promote development, and resolve the Syrian crisis, reinforcing efforts to combat terrorism, eliminate terrorist organizations, halt drug smuggling, and preserve the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria.

Additionally, the summit will focus on ongoing efforts to find solutions to the Sudanese crisis, continue dialogue, and provide aid to the people of Sudan.

The summit will reaffirm the unwavering Arab stance on the Palestinian issue and condemn the unlawful actions Israel has undertaken in the occupied Arab territories.

Arab foreign ministers, in their preparatory meeting for the Arab summit yesterday, approved a series of resolutions addressing political, economic, and social matters. These will be presented to the leaders during the summit.

The Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, announced that the Kingdom of Bahrain will host the forthcoming thirty-third Arab summit.
