Tourism income sees 84.5%increase in first third of 2023

Ammon News - Tourism sector budget rises by 63.2% in the first third of 2023, reaches 564 million dollars.
The tourism income sees an increase by 73.5% during the month of April in 2023 in comparison to 2022 of the same month to reach 385.1 million dinar (543.2 million dollars), according to data issued by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).
During the first third of 2023, the tourism income increases by 84.5% reaching 1,569.9 million dinars ( 2,214.3 million dollars) supported by the increase in the number of tourists to reach 1,957.8 tourist leading to a growth by 87.2%.
This came as a result of the increase in the number of overnight tourists to reach 1,597.5, with a growth rate of 78.7%, while the number of one-day tourists reached 360.3 thousand, with a growth rate of 137.1%.
Meanwhile the data also showed that the tourist spending abroad in April of 2023 increase by 49.6% in comparison to 2022 of the same month to reach 100.7milllion dinar ( 142.0 million dollars).
Tourism spending abroad during the first third of 2023, achieved an increase of 63.2%, recording a value of 400.1 million dinars (564.3 million dollars), and the spending of Jordanian residents accounted for 83.2% of the total tourism spending abroad.
