Ammon News - Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Makram Qaisi on Monday visited the Museum at the Lowest Place on Earth and the archaeological site of Prophet Lot's Cave in Ghor es-Safi.
During his tour, the minister said Jordan's archaeological sites were revived during the Hashemites' reign, pointing to the Royal Family's role and 100-year commitment to preserving the country's cultural heritage and antiquities.
Taking a firsthand look at the exposition's exhibits, services, and the antiquities warehouse, Qaisi expressed his admiration for the display.
He said museums play a significant role in society by being cultural, scientific, and educational centers, a main component of society's cultural identity, and a prominent contributor to the tourism sector development.
At the Prophet Lot's Cave, the minister stated that the site will soon witness rehabilitation works for the indicative plates and the road leading to the site.
