Ammon News - A fishmonger and owner of a restaurant in Aqaba, confirmed that a 90-kilogram shark was caught in the Gulf of Aqaba on Saturday.
He told Ammon that sharks are not usually found in Aqaba, which makes it difficult to catch this type of fish.
He stressed that this kind of fish contains high nutrients such as ‘phosphorous’.
He indicated that the periods between catching a shark and another in Aqaba ranged from 1-3 months.
Sharks which are caught Aqaba are not limited to 90 kg, as they may reach 250 kg at once, and are sold per kilo, not as whole fish, and the price per kilo of them is about 8 dinars, he said.
