Japanese pledge to support National Water Carrier Project

Ammon News - Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Zina Toukan, said on Tuesday that Japan pledged to support the National Water Carrier Project, which aims to desalinate the Red Sea water and transfer it to Jordanian cities to reduce the water deficit.

Japan also pledged to help reduce water losses in the Jordanian southern governorates through various water projects, according to Toukan.

Ministry of Water and Irrigation confirmed that the project of the National Water Carrier Project (Aqaba-Amman Water Desalination and Transport Project) to most regions of the Kingdom is continuing and proceeding.

At the request of qualified coalitions; The submission of financial and technical offers has been extended to July 3,2023, stressing that the strategic project that the government is working on is a priority for national water security, the ministry said in a press statement.
