Princess Muna participates in 5th Global Forum on Human Resources for Health

Ammon News - Her Highness Princess Muna Al-Hussein, Chair of the Jordanian Nursing Council (JNC), participated in the 5th Global Forum on Human Resources for Health, which was held in Geneva at World Health Organization (WHO) headquarters.

The JNC, in a press statement Monday, said the conference was held under the theme: "Protecting, safeguarding, and investing in the health and care workforce," and the forum brought together leaders of the health workforce, health policy makers and partners from other sectors.

During the forum, Her Highness spoke about the importance of the WHO's role and called on the participating countries to support and strengthen the organization's work and role.

Her Highness also called on advancing health systems in the countries worldwide to achieve comprehensive health coverage and protect and invest in the health workforce.

Her Highness met with, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General, and a number of its officials and leaders, for talks on ways to strengthening relations and supporting Jordan's health sector.

Advisor to Her Highness, Dr. Ruwaida Al-Maaytah, , participated in a number of dialogue and discussion sessions that went over importance of protection and investment in human resources and workforce in the health sector.

Jordanian Ambassador in Geneva, Walid Obaidat, and Consultant for Health & Social Development to HRH, Dr. Maaytah, Da'ad Shokeh, Advisor of HRH on Nursing and Council Issues-and JNC Secretary General, Dr. Hani Nawafleh, attended the meetings.
