Hotels see high occupancy rates on March- JHA

Ammon News - The spokesperson of the Jordan Hotels Association (JHA) and board member, Mohammed Qasim, said on Saturday that the hotel occupancy rates last week were “excellent,” and indicates the current inbound tourism activity.
Qasim indicated that domestic tourism declines in Ramadan, and that inbound tourism occupies the majority of occupancy rates.
By the end of 22-23 March, the percentage of reservations for 5-star hotels in Aqaba reached 44%, compared to 56% in the Dead Sea, 40% in Amman, and 85% in Petra.
Occupancy rates in 4-star hotels reached 47% in Aqaba, 86% in the Dead Sea, 60% in Amman, and 78% in Petra.
Meanwhile, 3-star hotels had an occupancy rate of 31% in Amman, 60% in Petra, and 48% in Aqaba.
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Makram Qaisi, had confirmed earlier that the numbers of the tourism sector this year are very promising, as the number of tourists reached about 950,000 tourists until the end of February.
