Ammon News - Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi Monday accused the "occupation government" of Israel of inciting against Palestinians and allowing Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank to raid Palestinian towns, describing the far-right Israeli finance minister's speech as "extremist, outrageous and vile."

"The use of the occupation government's finance minister of a map of what is called Israel that includes the borders of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the occupied Palestinian territories is something that cannot be tolerated," Safadi said in a statement.

He urged the government to take "all necessary" measures to address the Israeli minister's extremist actions, which violate the peace treaty and constitute a violation of international norms.

Safadi accused the Israeli government of fueling the conflict in the region and increasing tension, which requires the international community to check the Israeli government's actions to stop violating the international law, the statement reads.

Safadi explained that the inflammatory statements of the Israeli minister "reflect the image of the extremist government of the occupier that will only increase the Palestinian people's steadfastness in the face of the machine of war and destruction that continues to defile our Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem."

He said the Israeli authorities' actions undermine the chances for a political solution to the conflict and peace.

"Just as the House of Representatives announced the adoption of the campaign to recognise the Palestinian state, we will take urgent action with our brothers and friends in the Arab and international parliaments and ask them to address their governments to expose the occupation and take actions rejecting all the extremist measures taken by the occupying government," he added.
