Hneifat, Romanian PM talk agricultural cooperation

Ammon News - Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Hneifat, on Wednesday, met in Bucharest, with Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae Chuka , in the presence of Romanian Minister of Agriculture, Petre Daea.
Chairing a Jordanian delegation to meetings of the 2nd Jordanian-Romanian Joint Agricultural Committee, Hneifat discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture and food security and issues related to exchanging agricultural commodities between the two countries.
Lauding "deep-rooted" Jordanian-Romanian relations, Hneifat referred to ways aimed to strengthening cooperation by raising level of exchanging agricultural commodities, primarily vegetables and fruits, especially Jordanian dates, olive oil, fertilizers, veterinary treatments and vaccines.
The minister also referred to safety and quality of meat products exported to Jordan, especially from cross-border diseases, referring to exchanging joint veterinary expertise, training a number of Jordanian veterinarians in Romania, and reception of experts to find out about local procedures in dealing with disease control and ways to carry out veterinary quarantine.
The minister briefed the Romanian side on Jordan's expertise in food security plans and ways to support joint cooperation.
