Ammon News - The value of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) in January and February of 2023 to export goods and commodities to Arab and foreign countries increased by a whopping 50.7 percent, reaching JD185 million, compared to JD123 million during the same period of 2022.
According to the ACC data released Wednesday, the number of certificates of origin issued in January and February of 2023 reached 4,053, compared to 3,240 in 2021.
In its country breakdown of the figures, the ACC noted that a total of 785 certificates were issued for shipments exported to Saudi Arabia, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 533, Iraq with 349, Egypt with 149 and Switzerland with only two.
The majority of exports in January and February of 2023 went to Iraq which accounted for JD94 million, followed by Switzerland (JD15 million), Saudi Arabia and Egypt (JD15 million respectively) and the United Arab Emirates (JD11 million).
Furthermore, the value of re-exports (exports of foreign products) stood at JD104 million, while the value of Arab exports was at JD27 million. Industrial exports amounted to JD17 million and agricultural exports reached JD16 million.
