Ammon News - Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi Tuesday delivered a lecture at the Royal Jordanian Command and Staff College entitled "The Foreign Policy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan."

Safadi talked about the latest regional and international developments, especially the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian Territories and Jordan's efforts, the latest of which was the Aqaba meeting.

He added that the Aqaba meeting discussed the deterioration of the situation in the Palestinian Territories and explored options for a return to negotiations based on the two-state solution that would guarantee the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the lines of June 4, 1967.

He added that stopping the escalation in the occupied West Bank requires ending the illegal Israeli actions, noting the "need" to tackle unilateral measures that undermine the two-state solution and the chances of achieving peace.

He noted that the foreign policy objectives led and drawn by King Abdullah II are to serve national interests and enhance regional security and stability, adding that Jordan is respected internationally.

He said, "Jordan enjoys distinguished relations with world countries thanks to the wisdom of His Majesty, the Kingdom's credibility and the stability of its positions."
