Ammon News - Jordan's trade balance with the United States was in surplus in 2022, at JD625 million.
The volume of trade exchange between Jordan and the U.S. last year amounted to about JD2.75 billion, according to foreign trade data issued by the Department of Statistics (DoS).
According to the data, the value of national exports to the United States increased by 6.2 percent in the last year to reach approximately JD1.685 billion, up from about JD1.586 billion in 2021.
The Kingdom's imports from the United States increased in value by 7.3% last year, from 988 million dinars in 2021 to roughly 1.060 billion dinars.
According to statistics information, Jordanian exports to the US market covered from the clothes and textile sector, engineering industries, information technology services, medicine, foodstuffs, live animal products, and Dead Sea preparations, as well as jewelry.
The most of of American goods imported by the Kingdom are made of metal, including automobiles, machinery, electrical appliances, grains, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food industry products, wood pulp, animal products, furniture, iron objects, used clothing, vegetable oils and fats, and wood and its products.
The free trade agreement between Jordan and the United States, which was signed in October 2000 and came into full effect in January 2010 and increased the two countries' commercial exchange by an estimated 800%, is remarkable.
