Did president Biden's speech and president Putin's speech at the same time come to declare a new cold war! If we focus on this development in their statements, we have to study the realism of the two speeches and their connection to the areas of the international conflicts.
And to be clear, we must discuss the reasons behind the possibility of emerging a new Cold War .
If China pulls the trigger by supporting Russia with weapons and equipment, and if North Korea is to be involved in that, then we will be on the verge of a new Cold War, and we will have several conflict areas in the world similar to the Ukrainian war, and Syria may enter the list as an international conflict, in addition to Taiwan and the South China Sea.
The Japanese Senkaku Islands, the Solomon Islands, and Myanmar may also have that kind of sparks of the Cold War as well as some Sub-Saharan countries in Africa.
Meanwhile, conflict between the two Koreas may intensify as a consequence of the competition between great powers .
Gradually,if Finland and Sweden became members of NATO, the competition over the resources of wealth in the Arctic would reach high level.
Clearly ,It is very important to mention some expected reasons that may create the new Cold War as following : the attempt to prolong the war in Ukraine through the exchange of messages between president Putin and president Biden in their last speeches, the redeployment of American forces and its withdrawal from Afghanistan to Europe and the Middle East, the redeployment of American forces in Djibouti, building new alliances such as the AUKUS (trilateral security pact ) among UK, the United States and Australia, testing new weapons that were not used in conflict areas, such as American hypersonic missiles, Russia's suspension of the New START treaty related to the proliferation of nuclear weapons, and finally the arms race between the three countries: the United States and China and Russia, all those reasons may create that Cold War.
In conclusion, if the major countries, through the Security Council, do not meet at the negotiating table to draw their lines of interests and sign treaties about that, then we are on the brink of a new Cold War, in which small countries will lose , regional states may arm themselves, building up arms may increase in the world, and the scattered interests between the great powers may continue to create dilemmas as well as many political and economic structures may be destroyed.
