Largest floating library to be put to sea after docking at Aqaba port for 20 days

Ammon News - The world's largest floating library, Logos Hope, will be put to sea on Thursday, sailing to Djibouti after docking for 20 days at Aqaba's port, during which more than 25,000 book enthusiasts had boarded the vessel.

The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Chief Commissioner Nayef Fayez visited the vessel to look firsthand at its book collection of more than 5,000 titles on various scientific, literary, and intellectual topics, as well as university books offered at affordable prices.

Commending Logos Hope's long-standing history, he said the third edition of the ship docked for the fourth time at Aqaba after her sisters' visits in the 1970s and 80s and in 2005, according to a Wednesday statement.

Semester at Sea (SaS), a cruise-based study-abroad program administered by the Institute of Shipboard Education (ISE) in Fort Collins, Colorado, moored the Aqaba port on Tuesday.

The ship's visit is part of a program prepared to receive 96 major cruise ships to Aqaba until the end of this year.
