Safadi visits Syrian, Turkish embassies to offer condolences over earthquake victims

Ammon News - Lower House Speaker, Ahmed Safadi, visited headquarters of the Syrian and Turkish embassies to offer condolences over the earthquake victims.

Also, Safadi made phone calls with Speaker of the Syrian People's Assembly, Hamouda Sabbagh and Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Mustafa Shantoub, expressing Jordanian people's solidarity under His Majesty King Abdullah II's leadership with the two brotherly countries.

During meeting with the Chargé d'Affaires at Syrian Embassy in Amman, Issam Niyal, Safadi said Jordan, under the King's directives, is harnessing all its capabilities to support Syrian people in this tragic disaster.

His Majesty ordered to dispatch two relief aircrafts of the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) to provide aid and assistance to the victims' families and people injured as a result of the earthquake that struck Syria and Turkiye, Safadi said.

For his part, the Syrian diplomat said his country highly appreciates the "remarkable" Jordanian position under the King's leadership, as His Majesty expressed Jordan's readiness to provide various forms of support and aid during his contact with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

He also expressed His country's thanks and appreciation to Jordan's leadership, Parliament and people for their stance and solidarity with Syria after the painful incident.

In his meeting with Turkish ambassador to Jordan, Erdem Ozan, Safadi said Jordan, under the King's leadership, stands by Turkiye and its brotherly people to overcome this tragic incident, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

The envoy expressed his country's appreciation to Jordan under the King's leadership for its great solidarity stance, lauding the Royal step to dispatch relief aircrafts to help the victims' families.
