JBC for Marriott Hotels donates $75,000 to Al Aman Fund For Future of Orphans

Ammon News - In line with its continuous commitment to support the local communities, Marriott International Hotels in Jordan, under Jordan Business Council (JBC) came together to embrace the deeply rooted “Spirit to Serve Our Communities” initiative in partnership with Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans and collected USD 75,000 through fund raising activities since September 2022.

The Donation Handover Ceremony was hosted at the Sheraton Amman Al Nabil Hotel on January 16th, 2023 with participation of the General Manager of Al Aman Fund, Ms. Noor Homoud, the Multi-Property General Manager, Mr. Philip Papadopoulos, the Multi-Property General Manager and JBC Chairman, Mr. Erden Kendigelen, JBC Co-Chairman and General Manager of Dead Sea Marriott Resort & Spa, Mr. Muhannad Hameed, JBC Subcommittee Chair and General Manager of Amman Marriott Hotel, Mr. Laith Naber.

Jordan Business Council with their 8 participating hotels, The Ritz - Carlton Amman, St Regis Amman, W Amman, Al Manara, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Saraya Aqaba, Amman Marriott Hotel, Dead Sea Marriott Resort & Spa, Petra Marriott Hotel and Sheraton Amman Al Nabil Hotel undertook three main activities to support Al Aman Fund in September 2022.

The “Day for Life” donation campaign was launched in September across all Marriott International Hotels through which the associates donated 1,786 vacation days to make a positive impact on the future of orphans. “The Feast of Six”, the second of its kind since 2019, took place in October 2022 at The St. Regis Amman, 6 of the top Marriott chefs in Amman collaborated to create a rewarding culinary journey featuring a fine selection of cuisines for the people of Amman and all the proceeds were collected for the Al Aman Fund. The third initiative was the “The Football Tournament” between the hotels teams that took place during October and November 2022, where each hotel paid a participation fee to join the tournament.

Erden Kendigelen commented; “We are honored to join our forces with all Marriott International Hotels in Jordan in support of such a life changing cause, we are eager to continue our partnership with Al Aman Fund in supporting the Future of Orphans for their education, personal growth and future employment in our hotels. We are fully committed to dedicate our time in serving our local communities and are proud to be able to bring awareness to the importance of education and growth for the ones in need.”

Noor Homoud expressed Al Aman Fund’s gratitude towards Marriott International Hotels commitment to not only supporting Al Aman’s orphaned youth with their generous donations, but also raising awareness on the mission and vision of the Fund aiming at providing a better future for the orphaned youth.
