Kuwait crown prince, Jordan foreign minister talk ties, region

Ammon News - Deputy Emir and Crown Prince of Kuwait Mishal Al Sabah and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi Sunday held talks in Kuwait on cooperation and regional and international developments.
Safadi conveyed a letter from His Majesty King Abdullah II to the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and greetings from King Abdullah and HRH Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II to Sheikh Nawaf and Sheikh Mishal.
The message focused on strengthening the "distinguished fraternal" ties between Jordan and Kuwait, Arab issues, efforts to support pan-Arabism and regional and international developments.
Sheikh Mishaal greeted King Abdullah II and Prince Al Hussein and affirmed his keenness to develop Jordanian-Kuwaiti relations.
The meeting discussed the two countries' efforts to expand cooperation, and many Arab, regional and international issues of common concern.
Safadi and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Salem Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah held extensive talks that focused on relations and dealt with regional developments and efforts to resolve regional crises, promote joint Arab action and consolidate regional security and stability.
Safadi and Al-Sabah discussed increasing economic and investment and food security cooperation.
The top diplomats noted the "importance" of cooperation in education, as Kuwait is a work attraction for Jordanian teachers, 5,000 Kuwaitis study in Jordanian universities and hundreds of Jordanian students study in Kuwaiti universities.
They agreed to prepare for the meetings of the fifth session of the Joint Higher Committee, scheduled to take place in Kuwait in 2023.
Trade between Jordan and Kuwait in 2022 reached USD244.7 million as of October. Kuwait is one of the largest investors in Jordan, with an investment volume of about USD15 billion in tourism, energy, telecommunication, real estate, industry and banking.
The Palestinian issue was at the top of the meeting agenda, whose solution, the two ministers agreed, is based on the two-state solution that would guarantee the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the lines of June 4, 1967.
The two ministers reiterated Jordan and Kuwait's condemnation of the "illegal" Israeli measures that violate the rights of the Palestinian people and undermine the two-state solution and the need for concerted regional and international efforts to stop them.
They noted the "need" to respect the historical and legal status quo in occupied Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites and to condemn all actions targeting sanctities and their identity.
Al-Sabah noted Jordan's "important" custodianship role over Islamic and Christian sanctities in occupied Jerusalem in protecting sanctities.
Safadi and Al-Sabah discussed the outcomes of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership in its second session, held in Jordan in December. They agreed on the "importance" of supporting Iraq's security, describing Iraq as a "pillar" of regional stability and security.
Al-Sabah briefed Al-Safadi on the progress in the water border demarcation talks between Iraq and Kuwait.
The two ministers also discussed efforts to resolve crises in Syria, Yemen and Libya and efforts to combat terrorism.
Safadi and Al-Sabah discussed the developments in Lebanon and acknowledged the need to support Lebanon to weather its challenges.
