Ammon News - The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Kharabsheh, said that it is time to connect all countries of the world to a single electricity transmission network, starting with the countries of the north and south of the Mediterranean, to facilitate the transfer of green energy from its production sources.
This came in Jordan's speech delivered by Kharabsheh at the meetings of the 13th session of the General Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), during which he stressed Jordan's endeavor to be a center for the production and export of green energy, whether it is electric energy or in the form of green hydrogen.
He added that Jordan has completed a detailed feasibility study for issuing a tender for a storage project using hydropower on Wadi Mujib Dam with an estimated capacity of 450 megawatts and is expected to be launched soon.
Kharabsheh praised the UAE's permanent sponsorship of the work of the IRENA.
Minister Kharabsheh heads the Jordanian delegation to the 13th session of the General Assembly of the IRENA, which began on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
