Ammon News - The Jordanian Parliamentary Friendship Association with Asia and Oceania countries, on Sunday discussed with Executive Secretary of the Steering Committee of South Korean National Assembly (NKA), Sung Joon Eonseog, and the accompanying parliamentary delegation, ways to enhance bilateral relations at various levels, especially in parliamentary areas.
The association's head, MP Abdul Rahim Ma'aiah, said Jordan is proud to defend Palestinian cause, which is at the forefront of its priorities.
In this regard, he referred to His Majesty King Abdullah II's efforts made in defense of the Palestinian cause, which restored its international momentum.
He also stressed the association's "firm" position in this context and its continued rejection of multiple Israeli violations against Palestinian territories and people.
Ma'aiah said Royal efforts and Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites have maintained continuity of the Arab, Islamic and international action in favor of finding effective political solutions to the issue, which represents an absolute Palestinian right to establish their independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
With regard to refugee file that affects Jordan's capabilities and resources, the association's head and members called on the international community to work to provide the necessary support for Jordan to continue its humanitarian role to serve refugees, especially Syrians, who now constitute 20% of Jordan's total population.
The meeting went over means of exchanging expertise in the field of technological agriculture, nuclear energy and technical know-how , as S. Korea has made advanced strides in this field, according to a statement.
For his part, Eonseog lauded the two countries' "high" level of "historical" relations.
He also referred to the King's efforts in this regard, which contributed to making these ties to grow in various fields, indicating the "high" value of parliamentary diplomacy's role in reaching shared views and positions on multiple issues of common concern.
