Ammon News - The Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee discussed, during a meeting held on Monday, developments in the general health situation in the Kingdom.
The head of the committee, MP Dr. Firas Qudah, in the presence of the Minister of Health, Firas Hawari, and the Secretary-General of the Ministry for Primary Health Care and Epidemiology, Dr. Raed Shboul, said that there are numbers infected with the (BF7) virus.
For his part, Hawari said that the virus is not new, and there is no treatment or vaccine for it, adding that it infects 90% of children under the age of two.
Hawari added that the Ministry of Health has worked to equip staff and field hospitals to deal with this virus.
Regarding the Ministry's readiness to deal with the increase in the number of people infected with the (BF7) virus, Hawari stressed that the health cadres are ready, calling for the need to take into account the recommendations of the Epidemiology Committee related to the necessity of taking the third vaccine, especially for those who have been vaccinated for more than 6 months.
In turn, Shboul said that there are no direct lines with China, adding that “we have repeatedly warned against contact.”
He explained that the percentage of citizens receiving the vaccines reached 75%, indicating that about 100,000 vaccines of the Pfizer to deal with the (BF7) virus will soon arrive in the Kingdom, which are donations from France.
The Epidemiology Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday to discuss and find out the steps that will be taken to deal with mutated viruses, Shboul said.
