Ammon News - The Economic Modernisation Vision, as key economic event at the national level in 2022, which is coming to an end, has determined the course of the national economy in the next 10 years.
The cross-government vision, launched under royal directives, aims at unlocking potentials to build the future amidst the biggest challenge facing the national economy, which is absorbing more than a million young men and women in the labor market, and increasing jobs from 1.6 million to 2.6 million jobs during the next decade.
The vision emanating from the outputs of the national economic workshop held at the Royal Hashemite Court is based on accelerated growth and improving the quality of life within a sustainable approach, and through eight drivers of economic growth covering 35 of the main and sub-sectors and includes more than 366 initiatives, 10 KPIs and 4 entities responsible for implementation within a sequential and phased time frame, at a cost of JD41 billion.
His Majesty King Abdullah, in a letter to the Jordanian people on the occasion of his 60th birthday this year, underlined keenness to support economic reforms, saying, "I can see our future clearly a bright future where we fortify our security and stability, and move ahead on the path of development towards further excellence, achievements, and innovation; a future where we reclaim our leadership in education, advance our economy, and bolster our public sector’s efficiency and capacity; a future in which our private sector thrives, with opportunities increasing fairly to counter poverty and unemployment, and curtail inequality; a future that empowers our youths to soar in the skies of innovation".
The private sector, which actively participated in developing the Economic Modernisation Vision, hopes that there will be real participation in the vision implementation and its action plans, and unlock its capabilities as a real enabler for any economic reform process that the country will implement.
