GDP grows 4.9pct in H1 2022

Ammon News - Jordan's gross domestic product (GDP) expanded by 4.9 percent in the first six months of 2022 compared to the same period last year 2021, according to data by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC).

The ACC data revealed that the Kingdom’s GDP at current prices was JD15.92 billion in the first half of this year, against JD15.18 billion in the corresponding period of 2021.

The data, which the chamber said was based on official data, showed that for the first half of this year, the trade and services sector contributed 54.7 percent of the GDP at current prices, while the financial services, real estate, and business sectors made up 20.3 percent of the GDP, agriculture and fishing 4.1 percent, construction 3 percent, electricity and water 1.3 percent, and personal and social services 8.8 percent.
