House speaker receives Audit Bureau's 2021 report

Ammon News - The Lower House Speaker, Ahmed Safadi, stressed the importance of the Audit Bureau's oversight role to preserve public money and combat all forms of financial and administrative corruption and affirmed the House's "firm" support for its independence.

Receiving Audit Bureau’s 2021 report on Wednesday presented by its Acting President, Ibrahim Majali, Safadi said the House will attach the "highest" importance to the report, stressing the lawmakers' keenness to discuss all its clarifications and violations and take the necessary measures in this regard.

Safadi also stressed that the King's Speech from the Throne stressed the importance of consolidating the principle of the rule of law that must be applied on all, which motivates intensified efforts to establish justice and equality basis.

For his part, Majali lauded House's efforts to preserve public funds and its continuous support to Audit Bureau, stressing its keenness on continuous cooperation with the House and its various committees.

The bureau will provide the House with all the necessary information that contributes to achieving principles of accountability and transparency, preserving public money and rule of law, Majali noted.

In a separate meeting, Safadi also met with Constitutional Court's members and expressed " deep" appreciation for its national role in its oversight over constitutionality of laws and interpretation of the Constitution's provisions.

Safadi also voiced the House's keenness to maintain cooperation with the Court within the constitutional frameworks to serve the higher national interests.

Meanwhile, the court's members affirmed their keenness to maintain cooperation with the House to serve public interest.
