Ammon News - Minister of Health Firas Hawari called on Prince Faisal Hospital in Rusaifa District in Zarqa Governorate on Saturday as part of inspection visits to public hospitals across the Kingdom to check firsthand on their services and needs.
He said the ministry had put in place a scheme to update health services that will be implemented soon, adding that its impact will be felt by the public, urging cooperation by the relevant entities and citizens with service providers.
He said the ministry needs time to deliver on all demands, noting cooperation between the ministry and the Hashemite University and its impact on improving services at the New Zarqa Hospital.
Hawari pointed to a shortage in certain specialties, such as vascular surgeons, in all hospitals of the Kingdom, adding that the ministry is working to address the problem as soon as possible.
He also said the ministry opened seven government hospitals this year, which requires exceptional post-pandemic efforts, referring to the repercussions of the Covid-19 that took a heavy toll on the health sector.
For her part, Health Ministry Secretary-General Ilham Khreisat noted a plan for the development and expansion of the Prince Faisal Hospital, including adding four new floors to the kidney and critical care departments as well as special warehouses.
