The Ministry of Industry and Trade revealed that 5,000 violations have been seized in the markets since the beginning of this year 2022 until the first week of this month, according to the ministry. 

The ministry said that among these violations are 100 violations of shops for not complying with the provisions of offers and discounts.

 

The ministry's spokesperson, Yanal Al-Barmawi, said that  "the ministry carries out daily monitoring operations on the markets to ensure that traders comply with the provisions of the Industry and Trade Law, the instructions issued according to it, and the legislation governing the market."

 

"The number of market irregularities seized by the ministry since the beginning of this year until the first week of November has reached more than 5,000 violations in various governorates," according to Al-Barmawi.

 

The law sets financial penalties and prison sentences for anyone who violates the legal provisions related to liquidation, offers and discounts, ranging from 500 dinars up to 10,000 dinars and imprisonment for a period of not less than 3 months and not more than a year, or both penalties together.
