Ammon News - The Department of Statistics (DoS) issued its monthly report on the general price index for the month of October 2022, reaching 108.92 compared to 102.92 for the same month in 2021, registering an increase of 5.23%.
The increase was mainly contributed by the group of fuel and lighting by 34.12%, transportation by 5.10%, rents by 4.48%, culture and entertainment by 14.36% and health by 7.00%.
On the cumulative level, the average consumer price index for the first ten months of this year reached 106.53 compared to 102.29 for the same period in 2021, registering an increase of 4.14%.
Among the most prominent commodity groups that contributed to this rise were the fuel and lighting group with a rate of 23.57%, transportation by 5.84%, rents by 2.17%, culture and entertainment by 9.40%, and vegetables and dry and canned legumes by 7.21%.
