Ammon News - Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh Tuesday held meetings with his Egyptian and Tunisian counterparts and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) executive director in Sharm El-Sheikh on cooperation.
On the sidelines of the COP27, Khasawnwh and Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly noted the "distinguished" bilateral relations between the two countries, which are a "showcase" for ties between Arab countries.
Khasawneh and Madbouly agreed to hold the meetings of the Egyptian-Jordanian Higher Committee in Amman soon.
They underscored the importance of the tripartite cooperation mechanism between Jordan, Egypt and Iraq, adding they must focus on advancing cooperation between the three countries.
Khasawneh praised the Egyptian efforts to organise the Climate Summit (COP27), highlighting Egypt's role at the Arab, regional and international levels.
Madbouly, in turn, commended Jordan's participation in the Summit, following the attendance of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Crown Prince HRH Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and senior officials.
In a separate meeting with Tunisia's Prime Minister Najla Boden, Khasawneh noted the "fraternal" relations between Jordan and Tunisia, highlighting their keenness to improve cooperation.
He emphasised the importance of holding the meetings of the Jordanian-Tunisian Joint Higher Committee, agreeing to hold the meetings in Amman soon.
Khasawneh said that Jordan would hold the meetings of the Political Consultation Committee between the two countries.
In turn, Boden noted Tunis' keenness to strengthen ties with Jordan and explore areas of cooperation.
Khasawneh held a meeting with the IFC Managing Director, Makhtar Diop, for cooperation and partnership, focusing on Jordan's strategic projects, especially the national water carrier project and bolstering the IFC's support for the project.
