Ammon News - The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Environment, Mohammed Al Khashashneh, said on Sunday that Jordan is affected more than others by climate changes by 20%, especially with regard to rainfall.
Al Khashashneh added that preparations for Jordan's participation in the 27th United Nations Climate Conference (COP27) were prepared more than 3 months ago, whether from the government sector, the private sector and civil society institutions.
He pointed out that Jordan relies heavily on this participation through 3 axes, which is the focus of negotiations, which focuses on several issues, including adaptation, mitigation, financing and international cooperation, and Al Khashashneh had presented the most prominent Jordanian achievements with regard to mitigating the phenomenon of climate change.
A Jordanian delegation headed by the Minister of Environment and Chairman of the National Climate Change Committee, Muawiya Al-Radaydah, will participate in the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, which kicks off on Sunday, where the delegation will present four discussion papers.
