Jordanian participation in GIF in Dubai on Tuesday

Ammon News - The Jordan Exporters Association (JEA), with the support of the Business Growth Project funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), is organizing the participation of 18 local industrial companies from several industrial sectors in the Gulf Industrial Fair (GIF), which kicks off in Dubai next Tuesday.

The participating Jordanian companies work in the fields of Arabic sweets, dates, chocolate, chips, nuts, Dead Sea products, raw materials that are used in the manufacture of chocolate, and others that manufacture paper, cardboard, plastic and industrial machinery.

The three-day GIF includes other exhibitions of private brands, sweets, snacks, nutritional supplements, spices and raw materials for manufacturing.

The head of the association, Ahmed Al-Khudari, stressed, in a statement, on Saturday, that the exhibition constitutes a strong opportunity for Jordanian industrial companies to promote their products and make commercial partnerships, in addition to learning about the experiences of industrially advanced countries, especially in the food industries sector, which has become a focus of global attention.

The association seeks, by organizing the Jordanian participation in the exhibition, to enable Jordanian companies to learn about the latest manufacturing technologies, in addition to introducing the participants to the developments and the high quality of national products, he explained.

He pointed to the importance of expanding programs to support participation in foreign exhibitions, as they are considered international trade platforms and the most effective way to promote the Jordanian industry and its entry into new markets, and to maintain the momentum gained by local companies in export markets during the past years.

Al- Khudari stressed that stimulating Jordanian industrial exports, is one of the most important possibilities to achieve economic growth in Jordan by increasing production and investment in the industrial sector, which contributes to provide more job opportunities and enhancing the Kingdom's foreign currency reserves.

In turn, Director General of the JEA, Halim Abu Rahma, indicated that the area of the Jordanian pavilion in the exhibition is 526 square meters, while the Business Growth Project funded by the (USAID) provided support to some start-ups, small and medium-sized companies that meet the conditions for obtaining its support.

Abu Rahma indicated that the association, within its objectives, will continue to provide services to exporters from various industrial sectors to find new markets for their products through participation in specialized international exhibitions.
