Ammon News - Culture Minister Haifa Al-Najjar, chairperson of the higher committee of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, decided to appoint Ayman Samawi as the festival's executive director, starting on Tuesday.

Samawi has a long history in the leadership of Jordanian festivals. During his career, he took over the management of Fuheis Festival “Jordan is History and Civilization” for several years, through which he contributed to bringing the name of the festival to an Arab and international level, as well as managing and supervising the Jordanian Song Festival in 2020.

It is noteworthy that Samawi has managed Jerash Festival for the previous three years, during which he worked to restore the festival to its former era as a prominent cultural and artistic platform at the Arab and international levels.

Samawi said, " Jerash Festival has a local and Arab stature, and a great responsibility awaits me in which I will work to intensify cultural and artistic efforts to bring the festival to its position on the Arab map, which was accustomed to it at the level of the Arab world and restore its glory."

He pointed out that the aim of holding festivals is to direct national, recreational, cultural and intellectual activities for people, in addition to presenting seminars and intellectual and cultural forums, which will work on activating everyone who has an appropriate role to serve this civilized message present in the enlightenment discourse of the Jordanian state to the world.
