Ammon News - A delegation from the UK House of Commons’ International Development Committee, and the British Embassy in Jordan, along with representatives from the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the embassies of Norway and the Netherlands, on Wednesday visited the Social Security Corporation (SSC) to learn more about the social protection programs and discuss the Estidama++ program.
Speaking about the program, Muhammad Yassin, Chairman of the Corporation's Estidama++ Committee, emphasized the importance of the program in expanding social security coverage and regulating informal workers, noting that it is funded by the UK, Norway, and the Netherlands in collaboration with the ILO and the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.
The UK delegation stated that the UK's parliament International Development Committee is assisting countries hosting refugees, particularly Jordan, which has been hosting a large number of refugees for more than a decade.
