Jordan's economy grew 2.9% in the second quarter of 2022

Ammon News - The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Al-Shraideh said, on Thursday, that the data of the preliminary results of the Department of Statistics on the quarterly estimates of GDP at constant market prices for the second quarter of 2022 showed a growth of 2.9% during the second quarter of 2022 compared to the second quarter of 2021.

The department's preliminary estimates showed that the economic sectors achieved growth during the second quarter of 2022 compared to the second quarter of 2021.

He pointed out that the extractive industries sector achieved the highest growth rate during this period at 7.4%, contributing 0.19 to the achieved growth rate, then the construction sector by 4.9% and contributed 0.14 followed by the transport, storage and communications sector with 4.5% contributing by 0.38, then the wholesale and retail trade, hotels and restaurants sector by 3.9% and contributed 0.35 to the achieved growth rate.
