Ammon News - The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) participated in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Annual Meeting 2022, held virtually and in person from September 19 to 23.
Jordan, which is a member of ISO, participated in the meeting along with 5,000 experts, officials, and representatives at standardization bodies from 120 countries to discuss barriers hindering standardization and quality infrastructure and their economic effects.
The JSMO said in a statement on Thursday that it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Emirati Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology to boost cooperation in quality infrastructure, standardization, conformity assessment, and information exchange.
On the sidelines of the event, the Jordanian delegation also held meetings with Arab, regional, and global organizations for partnerships that enhance quality infrastructure.
The Geneva-based ISO is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies, which hosts 167 state members and more than 340 technical committees. It seeks to boost integrative work between the private and public sectors to develop quality infrastructure systems, thus bolstering national economies and facilitating trade exchange.
