Expats' remittances at $1.9b in 7 months

Ammon News - ordanian expatriates' remittances to the Kingdom amounted to USD1.980 billion in the 2022 January-July period, edging up by 0.8 percent from the $1.963 billion in the same period of 2021, according to Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) figures.

On a monthly basis, expatriates sent home some $290.4 million in July, 2022, compared to $307.8 million in the same month of 2021.

Remittances by Jordanian expatriate workers are a key booster of the Kingdom's foreign currency reserves, which reached $16.6 billion by the end of July. (Petra)
