Ammon News - Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat said that the agricultural sector provided 8,819 jobs and trained 1,250 trainees through private sector investment in completed projects, which amounted to about JD59 million.
Speaking in an interview with the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Hneifat referred to the key achievements of the national plan for sustainable agriculture during the first half of this year, which included 13 projects out of 15 projects, adding that two projects were delayed due to technical issues.
Hneifat pointed out that farmers were financed by 4,878 loans, worth JD19.9 million, with soft interests.
He said that the plan worked on increasing the competitiveness in fodder markets by adopting the fraction of corn grain in the country of origin.
Hneifat noted that the national plan, which was launched at the beginning of the year, has been accomplished thanks to the royal care and the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah and his follow-up on its implementation.
