According to a statement issued by the UJ on Tuesday, admission to the Shanghai Ranking is based on a set of objective indicators, including the number of alumni and staff who have won Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, the number of highly cited researchers chosen by Clarivate, the number of articles published in Nature and Science journals, the number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index in the Web of Science, and per capita performance. ARWU has been presenting the world's top universities annually since 2003, based on transparent methodology and objective third-party data, and is published by the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, a fully independent organization dedicated to higher education intelligence research and consultation.
