Ammon News - The University of Jordan (UJ) has been included in the prestigious 2022 Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), a fine recognition for the Kingdom's oldest university, which is now one of the world's top 800 universities and one of the top 19 Arab institutions.

According to a statement issued by the UJ on Tuesday, admission to the Shanghai Ranking is based on a set of objective indicators, including the number of alumni and staff who have won Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, the number of highly cited researchers chosen by Clarivate, the number of articles published in Nature and Science journals, the number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index in the Web of Science, and per capita performance.

ARWU has been presenting the world's top universities annually since 2003, based on transparent methodology and objective third-party data, and is published by the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, a fully independent organization dedicated to higher education intelligence research and consultation.
