Ammon News - The Arab League Saturday inveighed against the Israeli military campaign in Gaza and urged Israel to seize its "aggression."

The spokesperson of the pan-Arab SG, Jamal Rushdie, said Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit is urging the international community and all parties with influence to intervene to uphold a ceasefire, warning that the continuation of military operations may lead to an escalation that would incur "serious consequences."

Rushdie added that the Israeli operation reflects internal tensions that could get it out of control, highlighting the vulnerability of the health services in Gaza, which may exacerbate the impact of the military aggression.
