Agriculture minister receives FAO official

Ammon News - Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat said the National Food Security Strategy has identified clear frameworks and mechanisms of action for cross-border climate crises, supply chains, and refugees.

Speaking in a meeting held Sunday with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Assistant Director- General and Regional Representative for the Near East and North Africa, Abdul Hakim Elwaer, Hneifat said the royal directives had a significant impact on the quick response to supply and production chains crisis, food security, and the development of a roadmap to deal with world crises.

He pointed out that there is a partnership with the FAO in important files, most notably climate change and food security.

Elwaer was briefed on work themes in the national plan for sustainable agriculture, financing programs targeting modern technology projects, food industries and seeds, developing cooperative action to rehabilitate rural communities and empowerment of women, in addition to agricultural marketing and guidance theme.
