Ammon News - The Arab Parliament Wednesday welcomed the agreement to observe a truce in Yemen on Eid al-Adha.

The pan-Arab legislature expressed its hope that the humanitarian truce would contribute to ending the war and supporting efforts to reach a comprehensive and sustainable solution to the Yemeni crisis.

The Arab Parliament urged Yemeni parties to commit to stopping all military operations and abiding by the Saudi initiative announced in March 2021 to end the crisis in Yemen through a comprehensive peace settlement.

It reiterated its solidarity and full support for the people and legitimacy in Yemen and the state’s unity, independence and territorial integrity.

It added that it supports efforts to realise peace in Yemen as per the references of the Yemeni National Dialogue, the Gulf Initiative and the results of the recent Yemeni dialogue sessions in Riyadh under the auspices of the Gulf Cooperation Council and relevant Security Council resolutions.
