Queen Alia International Airport sees more than 6K aircraft movements in May

Ammon News - The Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) handled a total of 6,374 inbound and outbound aircraft movements (ACM) in May of the current year, up 120 percent from the 2,892 ACMs recorded in the same month of 2021.

Haitham Misto, Chief Commissioner of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the ACMs in May 2022 grew by 5 percent compared to ACMs in May 2019, which saw a total of 6,061 ACMs.

Similarly, passenger traffic picked up by 39 percent in May 2022 to a total of about 702,000 travelers compared to 505,000 travelers in April of the same year. Comparing May 2022 to May 2019, passenger traffic inched up by 31 percent, Misto added.

The daily average of inbound and outbound flights stood at 205 against 93 and 195 in the same month of 2021 and 2019, respectively, Misto noted.
