Yarmouk University, Libya's Misurata University sign MoU

Ammon News - Yarmouk University and Libya's Misurata University on Sunday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in scientific and research fields.

The MoU was signed in a meeting with a Misurata University delegation chaired by Dr. Mohammad Al-Sharkasi and in the presence of Libyan Cultural Counselor Dr. Ahmad Dweik.

Yarmouk University President Dr. Islam Massad voiced the university’s keenness to enhance academic integration and cooperation with various Libyan academic institutions and universities, based on the strong brotherly ties between the two peoples, in a way that achieves common aspirations in terms of strengthening the scientific research and academic work.

He said that the signing of the MoU comes as a realization of the common ideas between the two parties and their permanent aspirations to develop education, scientific research and scientific and academic relations between the two universities, expressing Yarmouk University's readiness for academic and research cooperation with various Libyan universities at various levels.

Al-Sharkasi, for his part, highlighted Misurata University's vision to stand out in the field of scientific research, and play its role in the sustainable development of society, by strengthening its scientific and academic cooperation with various Arab and international universities, including the Yarmouk University.

The MoU stipulated conducting joint research between the two universities, raising the efficiency of their research centers, joint supervision of master's and doctoral theses, and participating in the implementation of joint scientific and research projects supported by the European Union.

It also included leveraging the digital transformation and quality systems in force at Yarmouk University by Misurata University.
