Bashar Bataineh, Secretary-General of the Water Authority, indicated that this stage will see the extension of sewage networks in Ramtha of varying lengths to service more than 25,000 people, as well as the rehabilitation of existing networks. In collaboration with the Yarmouk Water Company, Action Against Hunger, and the Norwegian Refugee Council, the first phase of the project, worth 5.3 million euros, aimed to extend sewage connections and service unserved homes in Ramtha. Bataineh stressed that the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, as well as the Water Authority, will continue to implement water and sanitation projects in the northern region, particularly in communities hosting Syrian refugees.
